What the blog?!
Angus has asked me to write a blog…. So first stop, Google - What’s a blog?! Apparently, it’s a noun: a writer's or group of writers'; own experiences, observations and/or opinions...
Having hosted for many years, it’s been a pleasure to be more involved in the day to day operational side. The Roving Syndicate continues to grow and there are lots of exciting plans for this coming season and beyond. For me it’s been great re-engaging with shooting folk who I would generally loose touch with over the off season. This is one of the great things about our sport. We all love it (some call it an obsession), and can talk about it for hours, be it in the past tense describing a day or a drive or discussing plans for the forthcoming season.
So, the clock is ticking. It’s 16 weeks before the tweed is dragged out of the dry cleaners, the dog is dusted off (or is it the other way around) and off we go again! It’s this time of year when I start to get excited about the start of the
season. Looking out of the window I often see the keepers (who probably work harder than anyone I know) are charging back and forth building pens and carrying out all the tasks that are often forgotten during the season, and shoot bookings are flat out and to top it all the sun is shining!
Time for me to blog off (is that a verb?) and get back to talking to more fine people about a cherished peg on a roving day. Do get in touch if you’d like to get an updated list of dates and I’d be delighted to email one over or discuss your requirements for this 2018/19 season.
