pete conachie
head keeper | combe sydenham
Pete’s path into gamekeeping felt predestined with a grandfather, father, four uncles and a cousin all in the trade. Pete was working in a neighbouring valley when Angus, whose father had worked with Pete’s, invited him over to “look at a piece of ground.” The rest, as they say, is history. Pete was instrumental in shaping Combe Sydenham: clearing ground, carving out drives and managing habitats. He has since refined the shoot into the experience it is today, while upholding the same traditions his grandfather taught him and preserving the family-run atmosphere.
