With over a decade of experience in gamekeeping, Robert Cleave ('Spuddy’) is at the heart of Loyton Sporting’s operations on the historic Molland Estate. Raised on a family farm in Cornwall, his love of field sports was ignited by time spent helping out on local shoots. After formal training, Robert honed his craft under respected mentors on renowned estates including Haddeo, Great Bradley and Miltons. He leads a dedicated team that maintains Molland’s 6,000 acres of pristine Exmoor landscape. His approach blends tradition with innovation, ensuring every shoot day delivers the precision, hospitality and care that define Loyton Sporting, while being passionate about conservation. Robert is continually working to improve habitat management and wildlife welfare, believing that “the day you stand still is the day you go back.” His quiet leadership and deep respect for the land make him an invaluable custodian of Loyton’s heritage.
